New Area - Sakon Nakhon

I got called to Sakon Nakhon which is in the Isaan about halfway between Udorn where I served at the beginning of my mission and Khon Kaen. So here I am out here again. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere and is tiny. They call it "the outback". So quiet, especially after being in Bangkok for the past 8 months. I can hear myself breath, but at least I can breath which is kind of difficult sometimes in Bangkok.

Rain in Pakkret for the week I was there between my transfer from Rangsit to Sakon Nakhon.

My companion is Elder Ellsworth from Oklahoma. This is the only companionship in this district which means I am district leader. Should be a hard district to keep track of- haha.

This weekend in Sakon Nakhon we had a baptism of a ten year old whose mom is less active. There are tons of those here so I am excited to start getting involved with that here. His name is Dun. This area reminds me of Surin a little bit. Yesterday we had 47 people at church. Quite a difference between the over 90 we were getting at Rangsit a few weeks ago. I'm excited to help this branch see some success and help build the kingdom here. I will get to go on switch-offs with the zone leaders in Udorn. That will be fun to go back to my greenie area.

I can't believe it's October and time for conference. I am so excited. I know the church is true and that nothing can stop the work of the Lord or take away from the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
